Externally Run Clubs

For externally run clubs please book directly with the external organisers and note the start dates may vary. All administration/payment/cancellation of all these clubs is NOT dealt with via the School Office (with the exception of pottery).

  •  Archery/Forest School

Take part in outdoor and adventurous activities that challenges both individually and within a team, allowing children to learn new skills and take risks in a controlled and safe environment.

  • Craft Club

Craft Club is one hour of fine art; drawing, painting, modelling, textiles and so much more! Recent themes have included “In the Garden”, “Christmas Spirit” and “Winter Wonderland”. Craft Club is a fun and very rewarding way of developing your child’s imagination and artistic skills, working with lots of new materials and techniques. At the end of a term they will be able to take home all of their creations.

  • CSI Detective Club

Children meet together and become an investigation team. Each week a different skill is covered that they need to become a detective including: fingerprinting, chromatography, DNA, evidence collection, Interview skills, footprints and fibres.

Fencing is a great way for children to develop confidence, co-ordination, and self-discipline.

  • Fuss Free Foodies

As well as learning hands on skills, I will engage the children in food education topics such as eating seasonally, food provenance, sustainability and growing your own. These are all aspects I consider when shopping, cooking and eating food. There will also be a flavour of how to make good food choices and the importance of trying new foods

  • Guitars

Learn to play guitar with Hazel (who has 28 years’ experience as qualified teacher and professional guitarist) including music by David Bowie and Chuck Berry! Parents of guitarists are invited to watch guitarists perform in end of term school assemblies.

  • Shine Football

The ever popular football coaching sessions for children of all abilities; based on the field it provides an ideal opportunity for boys and girls with an interest in football to attend a well-structured, healthy and enjoyable sports club.

  • Singing Lessons

Mrs Roberts offers singing lessons to pupils in Years 5 and 6, taking place during the school day in assembly and lunchtimes where possible but also during lesson times. She works closely with Mrs Wrigh and the teachers to minimize disruption to lessons, especially Maths and Literacy. Places are limited; lessons are half an hour and allocated on a first come first served basis.

  • Speech and Drama

Improves drama skills and confidence when speaking in public: includes fun warm-up exercises, role play, poetry, speaking and also extracts from plays. There is also the opportunity to take LAMDA exams.

The Street Dancers are regular performers at Bristol’s Stages dance festival, and at the end of each term they perform for the rest of the school and for their parents. The club is open to all ages and all abilities.

Westbury-on-Trym Taekwon-Do was established in September 2010 and is run by Miss Fran White 4th Degree Black Belt. The club has members ranging in age from 4 years old to 50+ years young, and Grades 10th Kup White Belt to 3rd Degree Black Belt. Our purpose is to provide you with the best possible training and atmosphere. We aim to provide a friendly approach to Taekwon-Do, sharing with you all the fantastic benefits it has to offer. Classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
